It certainly depends on where you are in your life. I am retired with no children in house. What I might think or do with regards to where I have a convenient pistol would be different than someone with inquisitive children. Add to that, where you live plays a major part in your decision.
With no children to worry about placing a pistol in a location(s) in your home ready to go might be a better option then fumbling around have a sleep trying to open a safe under the stress of someone walking aout in your home.
Bolting down a gun safe near your bed that can be opened with a finger pad makes a lot of sense for most and tested models such as the one above makes sense. I am not sure if two guns is necessary though unless you have no other safe in your house for long gun storage and have only two pistols.
What ever choice you make, when and if it ever comes to need worrying about safe storage laws or whether you may need a lawyer would be the least of your worries.
