I've found this thread on an American forum. Thought i'd share it. I've seen guys clear firearms down towards their feet in the military. The results can be nasty. The picture title says its a shotgun wound. I'm sure its a pistol wound. A snake slayer (toe slayer) Sorry, if this is a repost.

last week it was 12 ga shotgun safety..........
that plays with the title of the pictures you originally saw.
I wonder what it will be next week?

I always wondered how the various stories for the same set of pictures develops.

Turns out people just like to make them up............this being a case in point.

Looks like 12ga to me.

Shotgun resting on top of his boot, because he didn't want to put the muzzle in the dirt.

Screw in choke, look at the (lucky??) 4 leaf clover pattern powder burn from the 4 removal key notches in the end of a typical choke tube.

How many of the four fundamental rules did he violate?? ALL OF THEM!

Treat all firearms as if they are always loaded(clearly he failed this one)

Never point a firearm at anything you are not willing to destroy.

Keep you finger off the trigger unless your sights are on target and you've made the conscious decision to fire.

Be sure of your target and beyond.(the beyond really isn't an issue in this case)

So unless he intended to shoot himself, he failed miserably. I see his score reflects that.

hole in foot

a buddy sent me a picture of the firearm he was useing and It has to be a 410 or a small cailber rifle . he was standing in some rack so he could;nt swing the gun to the side in a field .he either took the photo after going to the hospital or did;nt go at all .or it could be someone with sugar problems and thier haveing foot problems and playing a stuipid joke . :runaway:

:puke:

from the hole in the boot, I wasn't expecting to see so much meat missing. Hopefully the shooter recovers and learns something from it.

Some doubt it could have been a 12 gauge but probably a bit smaller. 12 gauge is about 0.72" in diameter. Well I measured the space between my toes and a 12 ga shot column would have caught about the same amount of flesh/bone as in the picture, maybe a bit more. Likely a bit smaller and the high pressure air following the shot column would have done a good job of stripping the "meat" off the bones.

Also, see my previous comment about the powder burns on the top of the boot.
