I curious if anyone thinks that all the talk about a possible ban is putting a damper on handgun sales?

I may well be wrong but it seems to me like "Pls Remove's" and "SPF's" aren't popping up on the EE as often or as fast as you normally see.

OTOH I've been watching the online pre-bidding for handguns at a large upcoming gun auction and it seems as strong/active as ever.

When i moved to New Hampshire, i sold all my restricteds except my Korth combat and my KAC SR25 but when all those talks about a possible ban started it made me realized that if it happen, i may not be able to buy anymore up here in Kanadea.
So i have decided to buy some just in case the ban occur, since 3 months i bought 6 including a 5.7 and a P210 a couple a weeks ago.

Better be safe than sorry.

I've noticed used sales softening as well. I also noticed more high priced sporting and/or collectable handguns coming up that simply weren't around a year ago. I think some people are looking to unload their higher priced items that they aren't in dire need of just in case they get severely devalued by a ban. Personally, I've been taking advantage of the lower prices and buying til my hearts content.

I've been noticing that as well. It looks like a lot of people unloading ACR's, XCR's, 102's, etc. All guns that will be near worthless if they get thrown into the restricted category with AR-15's.

I find sales of good revolvers very good, crappy guns not so much. 12-6 quality guns sell fine if priced right.
But I see a lot more probated stuff, 12-6,2,3,5 at the shows, most of us are getting at the age where the wife says, what the H are you going to do with all those guns?
And a lot of it can't be passed to the kids. grandkids.
Most of you will know what I mean

Maccabe SLR , Modern Sporter, Wolverines 180 ,and Stag 10 are also driving those sales. They more fit the bill of a non rest “AR” than a $3500 xcr.

They won’t be restricted if we all stick together and practice non compliance.

Non-compliance, yeah right. What do you think we are - Americans? We still got the Queen looking over our shoulders, at ever move we make. Most Canadians are too scared to rock the boat.

Prove to the world we got the guts to be our own people by abolishing the monarchy, then maybe we can talk non-compliance. Till then, we're just a flock of British subjects.

All's not lost though. Maybe the Trumpster will allow us to be the 51st.;)

That's true too. Some people are selling to fund an upgrade, others are selling to minimize their exposure.

You should study the history of gun legislation in Canada. Non-compliance is rampant.

But you are right about one thing. Our non-compliance is not the loud mouthed flag waving come and take them kind of American non-compliance, its more like the British keep calm and carry on non-compliance. At least 2 million unlicensed gun owners and at least 10 million Unregistered firearms, and at least half a million unregistered handguns and prohibs. And those are the low ball estimates from credible sources. The upper band of estimates is more than double that much.

But if the Gov't said to hand in your restricted and prohibs, I'll bet we'd be tripping over each other on the way to the smelter. 'Cause it's the Canadian way.

I've been buying as fast as I can afford. If they come up with some sort of 12.X prohib class, I want in.

You must be young. 12.x is not a cool ###y club that you get to be in and wave your special card around to all your non 12.x having friends to impress chics. Its a mark of shame. The shame of being the custodian of state owned guns that you can neither enjoy or sell.

Buy the guns you want to use. Unless you have the stomach for non-compliance and a life in fear of criminal penalties, having anything in the 12.x class will just lead to regret and wasted money.

It's better than and beats being told NO, YOU CAN'T BUY ONE OF THOSE.

I guess it's a buyer's market.
What interests me are the handgun sales figures at the dealers

Sad, but true. Turf Liz and the rest of the do-nothing monarchy.
