handgun storage at home

My instructor told me he keeps his in a briefcase that has lock on it. Said it meets the minimum requirement. His guns were not worth stealing anyways.

I should have been clearer in my post. His guns were not something that would tempt me to steal them. They may be worth purchasing, but to risk the repercussion for someone’s old .22 Ruger or .38 revolver. I’m just not that easily tempted. Besides I earn enough money to purchase what I need or want in life.

The people most likely to break into your car or dwelling are looking for enough cash for their next fix. They aren't as particular as you or I about what they steal, aren't as concerned about the repercussions of adding another charge to their rap sheet, and a handgun of any kind can be a tempting tool to get the cash they need by robbing the 7-11 around the corner.
