Handgun Storage/Transport Cases

I the case Lockable? doesn't appear to be. Jack Flacket said it was, but it doesn't say that it is on the CT site...
Yes it is. It's a Mickey Mouse key, but the feds don't say how good it's gotta be! ;)
(sorry, didn't see Jack Flacket's post 'till now  )

Just a little update from my earlier post #28, I have finally gotten around to cutting the foam for my case and I think it looks great. The red marker should fade after a while and I am very happy with how it turned out. Under the pistol and mags there is another layer of foam so if I need to change the items inside out I can just change the top layer, put in a new template/cutout and I can put whatever I want inside. To cut the foam I put it in the freezer and then used a blade from my xacto knife set that was about an inch and a half long which did the job perfectly. I had the foam cut to size by the store.

Enjoy.

Heres a picture showing why I had to cut the foam out around the trigger guard so large (to accommodate the trigger lock.) Trigger Lock Picture

Case looks sweet Man

Does anyone know if the combo locks that are default on a briefcase meet the Legal requirement for Handgun transport ? or does it have to be a padlock ?

I'm looking for a new handgun case. I've seen the ones at wholesale sports in Calgary, but I'd like to see more before I choose.

Anyone have any recommendations?
You don't really need a gun case. At home keep it in either a safe or lockable tool box etc and when you go to the range put it (trigger locked) in a $15 gun sock in your range bag. I also use a small padlock from the zipper to a tab at one end of the bag. It's in a locked trunk so very safe. Buying an expensive pelican or other case is just another expensive thing to lug around. Also just to be socially responsible I take two range bages, one with several guns and I put my ammo in the other.

$5.00 case all the way.

1. It's a handgun case

2. It is lockable

3. I'm reasonable sure it can't be easily broken into as it is in my sight from my house to the range. The law says I have to take the most direct route so If I want a coffee I go through one of the billion drive-throughs available, ergo the gun is locked in the vehicle with me as my vehicle, as most do now-a-days, has automatic locks. If someone puts a gun to my head at the drive-through and steals my pistols(s) then I am still covered legally as I am transporting them to the letter of the law.

4. I don't store my handguns in my transport cases

5. Willing to buy used $5.00 pistol cases for $2.50
