Handgun suggestions for female beginner (IPSC Production).

Truth be known most of us know results in shooting falls to the archer not the arrow. Most of us find the arrow we like and shoot about as well as we can.

Bob

I would prefer to find the arrow that is best for what I need it for then learn to shoot it as well as I can. You wouldnt race a nascar in formula 1 just because you liked it better, you would buy an indy car and learn to drive it as well as you can or pick a different type of racing.

Perhaps, I guess it depends on what you want to get out of any sport. In your example you could not run a NASCAR in Formula 1 because of the rules. IPSC is a bit different. IPSC has an approved gun list for Production Division for a reason...a lot of guns will work albeit some better than others.

Some folks look upon IPSC as a fun sport and just enjoy participating. Those folks have no illusions about becoming the next GM or have any desire to do so. They just want to play with as much of an investment as they either can afford or want to dedicate to their entertainment. You don't have to drop $1,500 0 $2,000 on equipment to play IPSC and enjoy yourself. Bob Vogel won the World IPSC Production Division with a Glock 17 and changed only the sights. Now I know it was before the Shadow2 was produced but still....it takes talent to win at IPSC. It doesn't take a lot of money on the latest and greatest to enjoy IPSC as a sport. You only lose at IPSC if you don't participate.

Shadow 2 Optic Ready. That's what I bought for my wife. The grip is slim enough that she doesn't have too much trouble reaching all the controls.
So that'd be a good starting point, make sure when she grip the gun, she can reach all the controls, especially the trigger, LOL.
I'm sure she has some cosmetic points she will insist on, that's women for ya.

Adjustable grips on a lot of the polymer guns can be helpful for a new shooter.
