Handgun Transfer Question

Hello all, I figured I would ask here because I'm sure someone with more knowledge than me can help.
I recently purchased a used Colt 1911 and have been waiting patiently for my STATT to retrieve it from the licenced seller.

I was informed by the CFO a I need to provide proof of my range membership which I provided via email, and told it would take another ten days to go through their system.
I then realized I should not need to provide proof as I am not applying for my ATT. I'm just retrieving the gun from the seller and delivering it to my safe.

Is this just because it is my first restricted? Or am I just getting the runaround?

it's just the CFO over stepping his boundaries again. my last couple transfers have been about 7-10days in ont. give them a call at the end of the week and see how it is going and request them to send the STATT and transfer by email.

I have had to show proof of my range membership via email photo, on my first restricted, For my next 2 ,they didn't ask,I assume they still have my range membership photo on file. Then I got the transfer emailed to me with in 5 days.

The whole CFO system is an exercise in bureaucratic excess run amuck. I'd like to think C-42 will do something about it but realistically I don't have much hope. Politicians come and go but uncivil servants are forever.

Thank you all for your quick responses, it sounds as if this is the norm then haha.
I'm in no rush to get it just curious as to how this all works. The seller initiated the transfer Monday and I even gave them proof of range membership.

Also I just read the Alberta CFO is in a transition to a new location across town, so I'm sure lots of stuff was thrown on the back burner.
