Handguns for small hands?

something like a Glock 19 fits small hands pretty well, especially the gen 4 with the interchangeable back straps, I have one you and your wife can try out to see how it fits, if your interested send me a pm and we can meet up at the range sometime, I also have a GSG 1911 she can try.

I don't think its necessarily the size of the grip that makes a pistol hard to hold in small hands, its the shape. I have the large back strap on my full size HK45 and my girlfriend can shoot that just fine. I'd say just take her to the range or gun store and just get her to hold everything and see what's comfortable.

M&P 9 is pretty small with the thin grips. Taurus tracker .357 or .22 is also small enough for my wife. GSG 1911 fits like a glove.

I've been introducing my daughter to shooting for some time now. She doesn't know it yet but I've gotten her an ISSC M22. This is a neat little pistol ... 22LR, excellent reviews. Looks and feels like a Glock. Smaller grips, polymer frame (hers is done in pink), alloy slide. Internals are different from a glock but you wouldn't know that to shoot it. Very nice to start out with and if you shop around price is excellent.

Another vote for the Beretta Neos. I don't own one yet, but I've never forgotten how well it felt in my hand.

Did you BHP have the wood grips? If so, what about getting some slimmer ones and trying her with that. Cheaper option than buying a new gun,.. unless that is the plan. :)

(despite what others have said, stay away from "sig" mosquito and tokarevs, nasty things....)
