Handheld GPS

The 60Csx is the standard by which all outdoor GPS models should be measured.

I have the 62s and am very happy with it.

Stick with a reliable brand and I would stay away from touch screens.

Check out GPSCity.ca. They have a great selection.

Our local London Drugs carries the 60Csx series.

Good luck and be safe.

Along with a good GPS, a map and a compass, it might be worth packing a couple of rolls of summer weight flagging ribbon. I've spent quite a bit of time in the bush working, and it's always reassuring when you're a couple of clicks from the truck to know that all you need to do is find the ribbon, and you're out.

Yep I am always using my flagging tape. Never go hunting/hiking without it!

I use a Magellan Explorist 400. Picked it up brand new on ebay for $80 shipped. Came with Topo Canada, and is super easy to use. Only downside (I wish I knew this before I bought it) is that it does not take disposable batteries...it has an internal rechargeable battery, so if I am out hunting for the week, I have to remember the inverter for the truck so I can plug it in to recharge every day. I would much rather just bring some extra AA's.

I've used a 60Cx for years on my dual sport bike and street bike, as well as hand held occasionally. It is a great unit. Even after buying a new $650.00 Zumo660 for my bike, I miss many of the features of the 60Cx. I might end up taking both when traveling.
