So I went over to check out the new Cabela's in Buffalo, and they have a NYS compliant AR on the shelf. I had a little chat with one of the guys about it and I handled it a little. I must say, I thought it felt great! Sure it sucks that they are limited to this, but as a customizable option, I loved it!

Anyone else had an opportunity to handle one of these? What did you think of it?

It's got an interesting look to it that's for sure. I've never held or shot one, how did it feel, ergonomics etc. ?

It was comfortable and very compact in the shooting position. You lose a lot of the maneuverability that you get with the pistol grip though. So it wouldn't be much good for competition use.

The other slight issue is that the mag release is a little hard to reach with your index finger. I have large hands, so I was able to reach it. But I could see it being an issue for a lot of shooters.

Handled one while i was in US. Also fondled a pump action ar15. That was kinda cool. Id enjoy playing with the more if i didnt know that the reason they exist is to bypass some BS law.

They're a pig and you cant reach the safety. NY has essentially forced an unsafe gun design on their citizens.

And law makers weren't looking to force this design. They were looking to abolish the entire platform...

Super fugly, and a rediculous knee-jerk reaction. All the manufacurers can do to save some shred of the platform.

Get used to it... We may be quequeing up for them after the next election...

Another reason why 6 of the 10 fastest growing cities in the US are in Texas/Arizona/Nevada.

NY is a sh*thole.
