I'm considering buying a Lee Enfield No1 MkI 410 musket conversion. It still has the original chamber for 2in 410 British shells and won't take modern 3in factory ammo. Does anyone have any experience in forming the 303 brass into a straight wall and loading it as a shotgun shell? Tried in the reloading forum but the thread is pretty quickly dropping off the front page.

Thanks

I have tried .444 Marlim brass, but it won't chamber. Took 20 "NEW" .303 cases.
loaded 5.0 grains of bullseye, and filled the rest of the case with cornmeal and a bit of tissue on top to keep the contents from falling out. (Keep the brass upright so the powder stays at the base.) It is almost as loud as a blank.
New brass should fireform, but don't think one would have the same results with once fired stuff which could result in split necks.
