Hey all,

I am wondering how easy it is to reload for the Tokarev TT-33 in terms of getting the brass and bullets ? I can't seem to be able to find a load for the cartridge on the Hodgden reloading data center, if anyone reloads for this handgun, what load(s) do you use that you find that works ?

Thanks all.

Starline brass is available. I cast my own 90gr bullets & load these over Unique powder.

Works for me. :)

BTW. This post should be in the Reloading forum.

So I am guessing bullets and brass are not very common for this one ? Interesting, I thought it would be similar to the SKS in terms of ammo availability.

7.62x25 is not a usual round or it was not made popular since most firearms that used that round was discontinued after WWII?

While 7.62x39mm was still in service to present time.

I'm having a hard time to find reloading equipments for this caliber as well :(

I believe you can use .30 mauser brass and dies as they are almost identical.Loading data should be ok as the 30 mauser is loaded to much lower pressures.
For components you can probably use .32 cal bullets but slug your barrel to be sure. Some people have altered .223 brass for this round but research that idea first,if it is viable the savings could be huge. And as always check Lee Precision for tools and dies they will have what you need.

I have tried to look for .30 Mauser brass for my C96 but it appears to be difficult to find. Granted, I haven't devoted lots of time to it as my other rifles demanded attention in regards to reloading (and my C96 needs a replacement extractor in order to use more than one round at any time).

Thanks for the link, Newmer, it has been saved. I will contact my ammo supplier to see if he has the dies, bullets, primers, and a powder (not sure which one I would use yet so I will have to research this one thoroughly; any suggestions for those that have gone done this path before ?).

Not heard of many people reloading this cartridge. Cost seems a bit much. I think most like myself are waiting for the surplus stuff to come back, hopefully.

Well thats a shame, I didn't know the TT-33 did that, I only thought SVT was a real pain in that department. That is also something I did not find when I did some background checking on the TT-33 as well so thank you for pointing it out.
