Hands free carry methods?

So I've been trying a few different slings and setups to carry my wilderness protection shotguns while out hiking and working on our acreage.

So far I'm not finding any setup with a sling that is comfortable or hands free.

I'm familiar with the Kifaru gunslinger, I made a DIY clone of it but this requires wearing a larger pack to allow handsfree carry of a firearm.

I've tried eberlestock packs but they're too short for me.

Right now I'm considering a BCS short shotgun scabbard or the VTAC backpack sling.

Has anyone here used the BCS or how do you folks carry your shotgun so you can use both hands when needed?

For example how can I carry a shotgun and fly fish at the same time?

Sure would simplify things if we could carry handguns... Never had this issue while living in the states and packing a Glock 20...

Any ideas or solutions would be appreciated.

Have you looked at the Viking Tactics MK2 sling? It's a standard 2-point sling but it has a 'cinching' system built in and a quick release to let the sling out to full length. I use one with my Benelli M4 and it's nice, you can get it nice and tight across your chest or on your back so it doesn't jump around.

I've used Scabbards before, and they're a bit of a PITA to get a shotgun out of if you need it out quick. But if you get a good fitting one (like: on a vest/chest rig) they're a very solid option for carrying... I checked out the backpack sling as well, it's okay but it still shifts around too much as there's nothing securing it to your hips.
