Handy Rifle

Dose any one know who has a H&R youth Handy rifle in .243 in stock?

I don't. But I did notice one in 7mm-08 in the EE this morning. Perhaps you could consider that calibre?

I have one. it's a piece of junk. 243 youth synthetic. The action flies open when you shoot it sometimes. When it doesn't open upon firing,it won't extract shells. Not what I had in mind when I bought a first rifle for my daughter.

If I can offer a suggestion, skip the Handi Rifle. Yes I own one in 357 magnum, fun little gun, but the finish is horrible, (and I like Norincos! ).

I suggest putting just a little more money down and getting a Savage 111FCXP3 from Wholesale Sports. They have the youth model 243 on for $329.66 at the moment.

Edit: I've got a few handi's, and a Rossi like the one above. Not exactly 'high end' rifles, but I've not had any issues with any of them, and they're all a ton of fun to play with, and/or toss in the truck or on the quad

Thanks for all the info guys. Its actually a guy at work that asked if I can find one. I've heard good and bad things about the handy rifles. I will have a look in the EE as well.

Mine's a Superlight Compact in .223, and I had the good fortune to find a .308 barrel to fit it. It works well.

That's exactly what I bought for my petite wife last year.
No problems, shoots great.
