Hanging pistols

Hey all,

Just curious if any of you hang your pistols and what kind of hardware/setup you use (tried search, surprising didn't come up with much).

I have a Sentry safe. I thought I would like to hang my pistols on the inside of the door.

Thoughts/ideas?
 
I use one of those hanging shoe organizers with the clear plastic pockets. It's good for guns, mags, and lots of other stuff.

the soft padded zipper pistol cases are perfect for this method of storage in a gun safe...
I use quit a few of them...
great protection and take onle little space...
 
I donot hang mine but way back i the fiftys when I was growing up are next door neighbour hung his handguns on his deerhorn rack he had in his living room.
How times have changed.
 
Not sure what's used here but I may do something like this with extra handguns I get. I was thinking strong rare-earth magnets set into dowels.

Although the deerhorn rack may take up too much space in the vault - perhaps a mousehorn rack ;)

Interesting..... no concern for the plastic attracting moisture, though?
 
In case your curious how it turned out

Hey all,

Just in case anyone is being kept up at night on how I made out with this challenge I thought I would provide an update.

I became very inspired by all of your suggestions and went to the hardware store. I got a piece of pegboard and screw gunned it to the inside of my vault. I figured the numerous peg board holders would serve my needs somehow.

However, while at the hardware store I found these things that are meant to hold the shafts of shovels and such. They work like a charm. Hold the pistols securely while allowing for quick and easy access.

Will post some pix once I get that figured out.
 
Good stuff...

Good find on the hanging door holsters and the pegboard holder... Wonder if SIR carries those things or if they would have to be ordered through the states...
