Now I know no one will be overly sensitive to anyone shooting a coyote but in a recent episode of Hank Parker 3D filmed in Saskatchewan, Hank takes a coyote during a slow day in the stand. I am not overly knowledgeable about wildlife regs but from what I understand only Sask residents are legally able to shoot coyotes. Am I wrong about this or could this be another case of a celeb filming themselves conducting some illegal activity?

Shooting takes place at about 18:30

Found it. Indeed he is commiting a crime. Think a call to T.I.P.S in in order. These U.S celebrity hunters should A. know the law and B. not think they're above it.

Cheers!!

Ya i believe he would need a fur licence, in the guide all i saw was that in zones 1-50 or 55 Sask residents can shoot coyotes, racoons, skunks and rabbits any time of year. They still need a fur licence if shipping said furs. May want to talk to a co to make sure. As was said, tv hunters better know what they are doing is legal before they hit the airwaves.

If he was hunting with a native band on there land then it was legaln same as they do deer hunting.
Two sets of rules depending on nationalty.

Save the coyotes

Yep..Its illegal to shoot a coyote if you're not a resident of Saskatchewan.

Save the coyotes.... they are endangered and need protection.

Great legislation, if ever there was!!!

NO ONE but Sask. residents can shoot coyotes. For a few years non-res could shoot two but that is long gone. An outfitter can take a sask res coyote hunting but probably not much market.

Someone mentioned possible on a reservation and different rules...
I was on another Shooting/Hunting site:eek: and someone was asking about shooting coyotes and being from out of Province(Saskatchewan was the area wanted to hunt) there was some talk of only way a Non Resident could legally shoot a yote in Sask. was with a guide or outfitter who had tags available.
So, those in the Living Sky Province, what say you?
