Finally put a cheap 1.5x4 scope on my M&P15 and sighted it in at 100m today. (before was shooting irons for almost 4months :))
Even managed to touch 3 in one of 5 round strings!
One of those impulse purchases I still don't regret later on LOL - great rifle for the money.

Excellent shooting - I'd say you got that one dialed in!!

I use Federal American Eagle 55 gr as well and have always shot well with it - Very good quality ammo - inexpensive, looks good, feeds good and shoots good. Is that a 1 in 7 twist on that rifle and if so have you tried the 62 grain bullets?

I can only Hope mine shoots as well. Purchased it a few weeks back and just received the registration papers last week and have yet to find the time to get to the range to try it and it's bugging me. Hope to get there next week. Nice shooting.

never thought about 62 grain, might try it sometimes.
At this point we are (with my daughter) planning to start shooting steel unsupported - standing, knee and prone - that's what AR15 is meant for I think :) Started looking for plates now..

It is 1 in 9 twist on the Sport II.

I have been cycling different brands of off the shelf ammo through my Sport and so for the Independence 5.56 62gr has been the clear winner. 1.5-2 MOA with a 3-9 Bushy. Have not played with hand loads yet but dam that gun is fun.

It is good to hear everyone is having success with them. I was thinking of getting one for the GF to make her own. She doesn't shoot as much but I have a hard time getting my AR's away from her when we are at the range
