Courier dropped off two presents today.

First is an Uberti 1873 El Patron in .45LC, 5.5" barrel. Beautiful gun. Love the color case hardening and the checked walnut grips.

Second is a German Sig P226 X-Five short. Again beautiful gun. Handling it and comparing it to my Sig P226 Legion SAO, its a toss up which I like better.

Cant wait to get to the range.

That's a nice delivery right there....I'm a fan of colour case hardening too...uberti makes very nice pistols....and a sig as well...is that the stainless? Very jealous...

The German P226 x-Five short is the traditional Sig black. The frame is very much like the Legion in that it has the squared trigger guard with checkering. Main difference is that there is no rail. Very clean looking pistol.

I put 300 rounds through the X-Five and I prefer it over my SAO Legion. Just suits me better and I like DA/SA.
Although same dimensions, the X-Five slide assembly is noticeably heavier by a fair bit.
The sights are more on too. POA closer to POI (for me) On my Legion, to hit in red I have to aim at the #8 on a standard target.

The Legion SAO flat trigger is much nicer but I shoot the x-five better. I have 900 rounds through the Legion.

The X5 short is a very nice model. I like the heavy steel frame. These were selling around 1400 a few months ago which was a steal imo.
