Well, I went for the Savage 111 in .270 Win. with the Accu-trigger and put a Bushnell 3X9 on it. I have tried three different ammunition makers in it. All were 130 gr. The Winchester and Federal gave me 1 1/2 inch groups at best. The Hornady SST Accubond gave me 5/8 inch groups. It sure likes the Hornadys. I thought that was pretty good for a rifle with just four boxes of ammo through it. I am going to use the Hornadys for hunting this year, then start reloading after Christmas.

Right on. Those savages are unbelievable for what you pay for them. I have two and by reloading they seem to get better and better.

Hell even their muzzle loader can shoot an inch at 100M with a little work. My fave is the BVSS in 300 wsm. I can't wait to take it to the fields and drop a deer from 500 yds. I know the rifle can do it.

Good hunting this fall

Good on ya, if its savages that set your balls ablaze good for you, we all have our faves and for multitudes of different reasons. If it feeds and extracts reliably and shoots well then its a keeper regardless of what brand name is on the action. I wish you many successful hunts with your new rifle

Ive owned Remington M700's, Win Model 70 crf's, Weatherby Mark V, Sako 75 and have been happiest with my Savages and Stevens rifle. For the price and the incredible accuracy I won't go with anything else anymore.
My next rifles going to be a .270 Savage bolt, maybe a 99c in .308.

Cheers!!
