Hopefully the taboo subject has died out now.....
These appear to be selling well at our CGN vendors. So how are you guys finding them? Buy it again?
 
Bought mine used with 700 rounds, magpul'd it and took it to the range twice (warm winter days). Only problem I had was I lost the disconnector spring when reassembling and didnt notice so the trigger/hammer didn't reset, my fault not the NEAs. 1000 rounds since and no problems yet. Would buy again.
 
Mine was great for about 400 rounds. Broken bolt now short stroking. I purchased it used expecting issues so I am not too worked up about it. Nea has been pretty good every time I contact them. It was my first ar and I will keep it but now looking for a well know quality ar I can bet my life on
 
I had issues with a broken bolt, it was replaced and now it runs just fine. Awful trigger as well but that will be replaced eventually.
 
Like may others in this thread, I bought mine used (but unfired). It is a very early serial number and had the known issues dealt with right away. NEA warranty was everything it promised, and great to deal with. Since then I have put 500 rounds through mine with no issues so far. Now that I've been bitten by the AR bug I'm looking to get a higher end sibling for my NEA :)
 
I have one of the first 50 rifles made, a 14.5" patrol carbine.
I had to swap out the trigger as it was the most useless, gritty heavy piece of #### trigger on any rifle I have ever shot, seen or heard of....absolutely retarded.
First range trip,200 rounds and I had to stop because my finger actually hurt. Contacted them and they sent out a replacement disconnector and springs ,which was much better but I ended up putting in a DD.Ive since run 1100-1200 rounds without any other issues whatsoever. For 1100 bucks I'd buy it again.

Finally shot my 10.5" complete NEA a couple weeks ago. Loved it- no problems.
Haven't shot the my DMR project that has a NEA lower yet- need ammo and optics for it.
 
Happy with both of mine. The trigger on my first one, serial # under 60, need replacement. My 12.5" has been flawless.

Shooterbuck, your rear sight is on backwards.

haha thats awesome! I just got them and stuck them on to take pictures and never even noticed, obviously paying very close attention.
Probably wouldnt have noticed until I got to the range...............and yes I am quite possibly retarded.

If your stock trigger is gritty try this. Separate the lower and dry fire while pulling the hammer up. Do it 10-20 times, it should smoothen out the trigger.
 
I had a bit of a problem gun, but NEA sorted it out and it has been fabulous since.

EDIT: I just ordered the NEA pdw stock for it. Can't wait to try it out.
 
ya they arent releasing that stock in canada yet is what they said.

edit - Never mind, they just put them for pre-order for $329 in canada.
 
I have a low 200s 7.5". Really bad trigger (no love from NEA), trigger pin holes are a bit larger in dia than the pins .07" (again no love from NEA). So the pins kept walking out. Solved that with anti-walk pins and a home trigger job. Eventually upgraded to a Timney trigger (at about 5-600 rnds). My gas block started to loosen after 40-50 rnds, eventually I discovered that the screws were never tightened.... Red loctite and cinched em up tight and voila. Another problem solved. There is a bit more play between the upper and lower than I'm used to with ARs. I tried an accu wedge but it didn't even touch the play..... It doesn't seem to effect accuracy but it is something to watch for.

2000 rnds later. Its still working. Its deadly on the 14" gong at 300y with bulk crappy ammo (mfs & Nork) so I'm a happy guy. I will admit that the crap I put up with at the start was a bit off putting, but all in all I'm OK with the rifle now.

For the list of features included with the rifle, you really can't beat the price......
 
I have fixed a few for some guys at the local club , the main issues were , un staked gas key , un staked castle nut , loose gas block ect .. So in short their main issue is the clowns who are assembling the parts ,good chance if you buy one and dont know the ins and outs how to build a AR and tools your screwed .. They should just sell parts if they cant put them together right . For the same money you can buy a Windham or CORE15 built properly , much better buy .
 
I bought two of these rifles brand new and have had a few problems. I have a CQB 10.5 and a 18" DMR. I sold the 18" to my buddy brand new and when we took our rifles to the range found out that he had a loose gas key and when i chambered my first round the detent on my dust cover blew out. Email NEA and both parts were delivered to the store I purchased them from. We have both now put 2000+ rounds through our guns with no more problems until yesterday. I took my rifle out to the range and again when I chambered the first round the detent came out of the new dust cover (yes again!) I have not emailed them about this and don't think I will this time. There are soo many cool dust covers out there that Im just going to buy a printed one.

A little off topic but:
Would I buy another NEA? I dont know! I wanted to stand behind a Canadian product, but when the company is too busy to make sure that Canadians have a Canadian built rifle I just don't know. I understand that military contracts are a lot of $$$ for a company but come on!!! I had to wait near 2.5 months just to get both my rifles.
