Does the installation of a Har-Bar or Accustrut really work on a Ruger Mini 14? I have a stainless steel Mini 14 ranch rifle serial number 580 series. I installed a muzzle brake already but would like a little more accuracy out to 100 yards.

And yes - I have one - does as advertised - whip is controlled, it simulates a heavy barrel.

Where did you buy your break?

Martar. It's just a cheap NCstar break. It slips over the muzzle and attaches with a pin through the existing sight. Not for the older Minis. Serial number 580 and up. Mine wobbles about 1/32 inch but I couldn't tell you if there is much improvement. I think the way to go is with a Har-Bar but they are a bit pricey and I don't know where to get one in Canada yet.

Hopefully someone will start making a similar product up here for retail sales.

That would be nice for us Canucks. I am a mechanical designer (retired ) but I have my own CADD system. I suppose I could try to come up with something. I wish I could get ahold of a drawing that has the exact measurements for the lugs at the front of the gas block for the 580 series ranch rifle. I just don't have an accurate system for measuring like the shop I used to work in.
