I have RL Wilsons Winchester book (big coffee table picture book) it has a pic of a chromed M14. It looks f$%king retarded. Parkerizing is so beautiful that it can't be improved upon, so why try?

Don't the guards at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier have chrome plated M14, wood stocks and white slings? Not something to have as a daily shooter, but it does look kind of cool.

Instead of chroming or if your bored of parkerizing (and have some money burning in your pocket) why not try the fancy gun-kote or dura-kote stuff. Seen some pretty nice pieces in different shades of gun-kote
If I knew a gunsmith in Vancouver who did gun-kote I'd certainly be poorer than I already am....

Dude "Guns go bang Not bling, say no to chrome"

I think it's the Taiwanese honour guard that has the chromed M14's, looks about as good as Saddam's gold plated AK's IMHO. Why can't folks just accept that guns are dark coloured - if you can see your face in it it's a mirror, not a gun.
