Hard to chamber a round in a 870

So i have an older 870 Wingmaster great gun but during a ipsc shotgun match as the gun heats up it gets harder to work the action gets stiffer how can this be fixed

JB, try "honing" the chamber with 0000 steel wool wrapped around a 12 gauge bore brush so that it's snug but turnable. Chuck it in a variable speed drill and lube it with solvent. Work it back and forth at low speed past the forcing cone. Clean it after 30 seconds by pushing a tight fitting patch through to the muzzle and do it again. Slow speed and light abrasive will take care of any dried oil and plastic fouling.

There is a recess in the barrel that the cartridge rim fits in, some peening can occur that may hamper the smooth movement of the shell.

I think you need to determine if the problem is in the pump or inside the breech. Perhaps cool the barrel down with some ice water and see if it starts to slide easier.
