I use a pelican case. Great for multiple carbines, easily lockable and you can throw it around without worrying about wrecking anything. I do like the soft case if I'm traveling light ;)

I wanted something that didn't look like it was carrying a firearm, too many old ladies with 911 on speed dial around here.

It arrived a couple days ago so I through a bunch of stuff in for a "photo op" :p

The case is lockable in the sense that the two zippers have holes for a lock. The case is 32" overall....

That's cool drache. I can't have an SBR. Mine has to be 30" or longer so I'd have to take mine down to fit in something like that.

I like softcases for hunting trips where I will have a lot of stuff to carry and the hard case just takes up too much room, otherwise hardcase all the way.

If I was running iron sights only, I'd definately consider a soft case, but with a scope I prefer the protection of a hard case and put up with the bulkiness.

Here's the case I got for my M4;

I had 3 cases already; cheapo plastic case from CanTire, 40" single gun soft case, and a nice aluminum 2 gun case. I don't have a safe (yet) so all of them are taken up, alluminum case is nice but WAY too big for just one gun.

Thats why I bought one that hods two:

i got mine from captain dave's. it holds a 700p, ar, pistols, and bits and pieces to the range. all in one bag.

I don't even own a soft case. Soft cases are for things that you intend to get bent, like fishing rods. I prefer that my $ 5,000.00 match AR stays straight, thank you very much!

Pizdets17, this is the other one I have, it holds 2 as well (currently my 870 and a scoped 700sps with a bipod.) it came with a foam divider but I just stack 'em 69 style. ;)

I bought the new soft case for it because It's just too big and too heavy if I want to bring just one long gun, and WAY to big for a tiny lightweight M4. and my other soft case didn't have a lock for a zipper.

I looked at soft cases, but looked at what I was protecting, and thought Pelican was the way to go.(It helped that a friend works for a safety supply store and she got the 1700 pretty cheap!)
