Hey guys,

turkey season is upon us and im missing 1 item still. ive been looking and still cannot find a Red light only headlamp/ flashlight for hunting, the ones i found are only good for less than 5 feet and need something with some distance . any recommendation ??

What about getting a regular headlamp and putting a piece of red taillight tape over the lens? [I read your request as not needing the regular white light headlamp]

Otherwise, you're right about the red lens not throwing a beam very far. I have a few headlamps, and the ones that have a red option are only good for 5 feet. Maybe there are lights that have a further patern, but I don't know of any. Unless there's something in the military spec lights?

I set up two of my D cell Maglites one with green lens and one with a red lens. I purchased (I believe 55mm colored filter lens} off ebay cut the metal frames off and they fit the maglite great. Works for me.

A lot of head lamps have a red setting on them, have you looked at those?
