I'm working a Remington 700 SA project I can't believe the scarcity of some of this hardware for one of the most widely used platforms on the planet. My first encounter was action screws, I know there are several manufactures that make longer action screws for the specific problem I'm dealing with but does anyone in Canada stock this stuff? My extensive online search and stopping at every gun shop and even a few gunsmiths between Saskatoon and Grande Prairie has left me empty handed.
My second issue was with the screws holding the picatinny rail down, they looked like a standard 6-48# gunsmith screw but since the rail was EGW they use a 82° tapper and not the standard weaver or fillister heads. Apparently Leupold mark 4 hardware also uses this tapper but so far I've come up empty handed on sourcing replacements.
Before I turn this into a 100$ cross border shipping nightmare can anyone suggest a Canadian source for this stuff?
