Wondering if anyone has any first hand experience with the Harrell Black Powder Measure. I’ve looked at the MVA online, doesn’t look as portable as the Harrell. Not sure if either can handle leaving BP in the hopper for longer periods of time. My Lyman 55 is pain to empty after use.

I’m looking for something that can perhaps speed up my measuring of blackpowder that’s quite consistent.

I have an MVA and really like it , pretty danged easy to empty afterwards as well.

I have that Harrell's BP measure. It works reasonably well with finer grained powders like FFFg & FFg. I like it more than the Lyman 55, but the 55 is better if you are using Fg as it meters better.

I actually just use that Harrell's for smokeless in my schuetzen rifles now. A few years back I switched to an MVA and it's by far the best I've ever used for black powder. Very repeatable and easy to use. I wouldn't use anything else now.

Belding and Mull is the best that I have found and use.

I had three Belding an Mull ..now down to two.. I change out the std hopper to a taller one. I dump a full pound or more into it when Iam doing black powder cartridge reloading.
BTW I just bought a couple of the MVA micro adjustable powder measure scale assembly to the tune of 155.17 USD for two shipped to Manitoba they are nice and are quality.
They work just fine in the B&M and I like having multiple just "set them and forget them" they are a great powder measure for black powder. I was prepping 100gr triple 7 3fg loads yesterday for my T/C I was trying for a perfect 100gr and the B&M was throwing +or - 1/100th of a grain ...not bad for something made in the 1950s?
