Harris bipod adapter for AR 15

I've got a couple of unused Harris bipods, one of which I'd like to mount on my wife's S&W MP AR 15. This has the shorty round forestock, so I was thinking of something barrel mounted.

What adapter would people recommend?

I don't think the OP's rifle has a rail but I could be wrong. lol

Wolverine carries a bayonet mount if she happens to have one on her rifle.

Yep - no rail.

I could go with a barrel mount on a low profile gas block, something I've been looking at doing. That will get rid of the ugly A2 front sight.

Ya, I guess I assumed everyone has rails on their Ar15.

Or install a low profile gas block and upgrade to a rail front end.

Got some input and did some surfing. Advice - stay the hell off the bayonet lug and barrel!

There is an adapter that attaches to the bottom of the factory round forestock. Cheap, easily installed and detached. That might be the best option.

I've tried to teach my wife the use of a sling but gave up in order to save the marriage ... ;>) She might be a little more amenable to using a bipod. All she wants is 'minute of steel plate' at 100m with her red dot. She can shoot tight groups at 50 with iron sights.

Running a bipod or slinging up on a non free floated rifle will be an exercise in frustration
Let the sling hang and learn to shoot off the mag.
