Which Harris bipod is best for shooting prone and would the swivel model be best? I'm going to be shooting prone on grass dirt ext. I was thinking about the 9"-13" model.

i find the 9-13 a bit tall, id personally go with the 6-9" ...swivel, well that depends on what sort of surface / terrain your shooting on

or better yet, get an atlas ;)

I have a 6-9 as well and find it works well for me. You will have to assess all of the shooting areas you are in and decide if you need more height or use a pack as a base.

I just love the swivel option! I tried the solid Harris models with lousy results and have switched my 3 bipods over to swivel models. f:P:

I use the BR 6" to 9" for the matches & bench. Then for hunting earth pigs, I stick with the (cannot remember exactly now) 7" to 12" version.

One day I'll get the 13" to 27" for coyote hunting! :D

Hope this helps!

From the bench, 6-9" is fine. In the field, I find that 9" is not always enough to clear the grass, so I have opted for 9-13" on all of my rifles. Even that can be a bit short sometimes - I had an experience with a snow drift this past season that was less than ideal.

If the bipod is going to be used in the field, definitely go swivel. The world is not near flat enough for a fixed bipod.

6-9 is ideal for me, with the Harris stuff. For shooting from Prone, at least.

I've been using a Versapod on my precision rifle. I don't like either one more than the other.
