I have a couple rifles I like to hunt with that have a protruding magazine that dig into my back or side while I have it slung. Modern sporting arms seem to alleviate this issue by allowing QD mounts to be placed nearly anywhere you want, usually running my slings along the left side of the rifle.
I've been thinking about trying to recreate this on some of my traditionally stocked hunting rifles, but not too sure if I'm just opening a whole can of worms.
It seems simple enough, so far as it should only entail locating, drilling, and perhaps some epoxy to complete. For some reason it feels like I may be overlooking something in my assessment of the task. Once again, I find myself inquiring the knowledgeable skilled shooters and tinkerers of CGN to put my mind at ease, or educate me!
Any information, thoughts, criticisms and ideas where to find QD cups is greatly appreciated!
