Hello everyone,

Has anyone coated a lever to look gold? I love the look of the gold Henry models, but I ended up buying the black/steel one because it was so much lighter (7 pounds vice 9 pounds).

However, I still really love the look of the gold ones:

I have seen some cerakote shops before, but their gold looks more like gold plastic or flat/matte, instead of that nice wet brass look that makes the from-the-factory gold Henry look sharp.

If anyone knows of examples or knows ways to coat things to make it look like a classy retro lever as opposed to a gun that has been painted flat gold, I'd appreciate any advice, thank you.

It isn't painted, or coated, it is plated, with brass. Any shop the does chrome or nickel should be able to brass plate your parts.

Ceracote etc seems to come in a few colors...... probably better to just get the brass like model to begin with if that's your thing.

some of those where blue with a brass cover over the frame, (at one time) Lever would be plated, Don't look right to me , But old guy, reminds me of a winch. comm. brass plated that would peel off if used.
