I was looking at m14.ca and I saw that they have fred's m14 stock site listed on their page. I want to buy a synthetic stock from them but when doing so on their site, google chrome stop me from going onto their secure server cuz of an untrustworthy security certificate. Has anyone bought anything from that site before?

I bought from Fred's a long time ago, don't think he'll ship to Canada anymore (ITAR Reasons).

From the site:

Shipping to Canada suspended! Sorry, customs has gotten too quirkey, and the costs of packages going back and forth too prohibitive... Late-breaking: No foreign Orders! Sorry, overseas/outside-the-USA-people - because of the reduced warehouse hours, we have not the time to process foreign orders with all the paperwork...

Also, those old surplus M-14 synthetic stocks are now in very short supply, usually sold out for the last two years on Fred's site. Of course many people have surplus wood stocks, and Freds has some nice ones, as does Treeline.

This is part of the reason why there are more synthetic and aluminum based stocks for the M-14 nowdays. If you have the cash, the poster formerly known as M14Doc at this site, now makes high quality carbon fibre stocks in several different configurations...telestocks, precision sniper stocks, a synthetic version of the E2 squad auto stock (has a pistol grip), and also a carbon fibre version of the standard M-14 synthetic stock.

Nowdays, I'd think your best bet would be to check all the various internet sites where people put parts up for private sale, like the EE, but also others. Or spend extra for one of the Doc's nice stocks!

Sorry man , M14Doc (me) is now retired and no longer in the firearms business. Not sure if the folks who bought my designs and processes are gonna put them in production soon or at all, they will honor the warranties for those who already got a m14doc/ICR stock but as for me, I'm happily out of the "game" ;)

As for Fred's, unless things have changed, he won't ship to Canada. Treeline did/does (?)

I orderd a couple stocks from Fred's about 8 years ago and never heard anything from him, not too uncommon from what I have read about Fred's even from people on American forums.

I recently ordered an unissued walnut stock and a presentation grade USGI Synthetic. Both were nicer than I expected, he also threw some ventilated hand guards in. I shipped to an American address. Turnaround was approx. 3 weeks. He can be very hit and miss, I never received any sort of updates or confirmation. The stocks just magically appeared one day.

"...ship to Canada anymore..." Fred got caught exporting M14 parts without a permit(actually there are 2. One's an export permit, the other is an expensive exporter's licence) and was slapped by Uncle Sam's monkeys.

Fred S**ks !
He is too busy writing his Appleseed columns in Shot gun news that selling and shipping the merchandise that people order from him.
I bought some stuff from him years ago and did get it but it was a mixed bag ,some decent and some real junk. This was when the stocks were $6 and $7 ea in quantity.

So I've been emailing treeline for the past two weeks for my shipping info and I have gotten no response. They sent me no tracking info and the only thing I received is my order number that I got after the purchase. I have no idea what to do. Has anybody ordered anything from them before?
