Has anyone done a Glock Gen 2 to Gen 3 frame upgrade?

So, as the title implies, has anyone in Canada done a Gen 2 to Gen 3 upgrade through Glock?

I have a G19 that I really like but I want to have the ability to mount a light on it. Best solution that I have found is to either sell the gun or up-grade the frame.. I would rather upgrade!

So, any experience with this?

I believe that Slavex has a Gen 2 G19 on which the frame cracked. He was able to get a Gen 3 replacement through Glock if I am remembering things correctly.

So evidently it is possible to get a replacement frame under the right circumstances. But that is all I know.
