Has anyone ever seen a Stevens model 44 in 22 hornet

Like the title says , has anyone ever seen a Stevens model 44 (looks like a stevens favorite...only BIGGER) in 22 hornet.I'm looking for one, and or any info on them.

There are two Stevens actions the the 44 and the 441/2.I don t believe the 44 action is strong enough for the 22 hornet the 44 1/2 action is stronger
 
Talk to Clay at Prophet River or go through IRUN GUNS. The rifle in this pic is pretty rough close up, but there are tidy ones out there for more coin. If one were to do up a 44 in .22 Hornet, it would not be a good idea to load beyond SAAMI pressure levels in this action.:)

I'm just rereading all , my posting....did I say price way not a problem....well I'd have to trade in my Porsche for a Honda CRV......but what I already did that!!! LMAF .
 
Actually, now that I'm taking a closer look they aren't as steep as I thought.

....if the dollar ever gets back to being near par and I get 3 raises and the ex wife dies.... I might even be able to get one!

I hear ya, but what I was looking for was a factory made one or if there was ever one factory made as it said in the net page I posted. I just bought one in 22 mag, the newer model 30 and like it alot, but also like to reload my shell....and not having to rely on someone stocking them or me having to stock a life time supply. And yes I've looked into reloading rimfire shell and it is do-able..or maybe there's a way to run a center fire shell....? And that's why I'm looking for a 22 hornet version.

Getting one in .22 Hornet is a custom build option, but as I mentioned earlier you would want to load it on the light side of the pressure scale as these actions were designed for black powder cartridges. A good condition one in .32-40 or .38-55 would be sweet to hunt & plink with.
 
I have a 44 in 25/20 SS and a 44 1/2 in 28 30 but if read the single shot action books the 44 will become loose in 22 hornet and also if you use modern loads in original 38/55 they will become loose as that action was designed in the black powder era
