Lol, catchy title, but to the point. The topic of the day, BCL 102. Has anyone here been truly satisfied with theirs? I ask as I see so much anti bcl, that it’s got me spooked especially when my first real black rifle (Scorpio 15 imo isn’t) is on its way. I bought this rifle to hunt with and explore the AR platform and well... it’s Canadian made, so I can’t go wrong. Now I hope we have some happy campers in the crowd and please share your thoughts!

I think the stock needs to be replaced but otherwise they're decent in their factory configuration. The newer runs seem to be improved from the early complaints.

Of course there's happy BCL owners out there. I bet NEA/BCL puts out 98% good product. It's just that when you're producing so much, that couple percent translates into quite a few lemons, and of course those people are going to be much more vocal about their problems. That being said, a proper QC department should be catching the inevitable couple percent scrap rate before it leaves the shop, and that's where it seems like BCL is lacking.

At the shop I work at our internal scrap rate hovers at around 1%, but our customer return rate is a small fraction of 1%. Issues should be identified and addressed before making it out the door.

My first BCL102 (Second release) had issues from the start.

I sent it back to BCL; they overhauled it completely it seems to me.

I like it fine now. Sub MOA at 100 yards using Federal Premium GMM 175 gr. SMKs.

I put a Magpul UBR Gen 2 stock and a MIAD® GEN 1.1 Grip Kit – TYPE 1 on it, and like it that way.

Keep it well lubed with a quality (slightly thicker) lubricant and no problems now.

I plan on keeping it.

why anyone would buy a 102 when the Stag 10 is on the market is way beyond me.

do you due diligence before dropping your $2k

I've had two 102s and a Stag 10. The 102 doesn't even come close to the value, fit, or finish of the Stag 10.

The Stag 10 is type III hard coat anodized, the BCL is painted. The Stag 10 is $200 cheaper than the BCL (for the receiver set) AND comes with a complete lower parts kit with a really good trigger. The stag 10 upper and lower mate with zero slop, the takedown pins are perfectly sized. The second gen 102 requires a punch to takedown last I heard.

It's not bad I like mine. Sub MOA 168 GMM. Few hundred rounds through it with zero failures of any kind. It's just a fun gun for me. But I do not think it's worth the $1700 or so. I think it a $1000-1200 rifle but that's just me. You can make it bad assed but man that would add up...

I didn’t cancel mine as it was hopeful to be in my hands before hunting season and well... I only just started scoping out this site more and reviewed the stag10 comparison. To be honest to switch now would mean nope to going out in time. What’s the going price on them stags now? 2200.00? Regardless I am hoping I am happy with my bcl and I certainly have some mod ideas in mind ;)

So far, mine runs like a swiss watch. No complaints there. I have just a few minor complaints, but they are mostly aesthetic. I really don't like that Captain hook stock, but then, I'd imagine most would change the stock no matter what was on it. The other is the hand guard. Its heavy for no reason and I'd like to see an extra QD hole closer to the muzzle on it. I'm also not a fan of the flash hider. I guess that's half the fun of an AR platform. You get to change it to how you like it.
