This is what I ve found so far on the You Tube...

Has anyone here tried this here ?

I get the feeling there will be a mother load of steel cases @ 3 gun events that wont be picked up...

I did reload a few 7.62x25 steel cases years ago. One brand had a primer pocket that would hold regular small primers. Found a supply of brass cases, so I abandoned the big plan.

I think a lot (at least some) handloaders are tempted at one time or another to take a crack at re-loading steel cased Berdan primed cases.I know I was. That interest didn't last too long for me and from what I gather most other handloaders as well. Not that it can't be done because obviously people are doing it.I just find it much easier to use brass cased Boxer primed cases for my activity.Believe me,nobody likes to see an empty go to waste as much as I do, but Berdan primed steel cased reloading is just not up there with my current interests.Do yourself a favour and go with brass cased numbers for this activity,if you are going to try it.

i've reloaded aluminum 45acp and 9mm before, but after 2-3 uses the primer pockets loosened up to the point the primer comes out when fired.

With ammo prices still going up here in the states, I have to start reloading. Always been concerned depriming berdans. But, I found a tool the other day and ordered one. Going to start with 6.55 Swede brass. Then another tool for X39 for Yugo M67 brass and Russian steel. Gonna find out on the steel.
This pic is the one for x54. For $26.50 delivered, not bad price.

This has been my experience with the aluminium cases too. Good for throw-away brass shooting out in the snow or grass etc.

There was someone picking out the steel 45acp Hornady cases at the range yesterday. He said that it worked pretty well with carbide dies.
