Has anyone imported Brass/bullets from the USA ?

The US has no interest in upping the exports for now. The demand is more than crazy enough on the domestic market. They mostly have to thank their best arms salesmen for that...
Here's one:

And here's the other:

Once the craziness dies down, we might be able to expect for various interests to start greasing their politicians to use our market to keep up with the demand. I hope they don't wait too long as Norinco has been pretty good at filling the gaps in the supply chain here.

ITAR makes good sense in some respects but in other ways it's purely anti-sporting firearms. For instance making it illegal to sell 45-70 brass to Canada is very smart because of the obvious threat from Canadian militants that would surely attack the USA enmasse if only they could find ammo for their Marlin guide guns and Winchester M1886s.

Of course the brush they paint with covers areas is should not. They do not pledge to be reasonable, fair, considerate, smart, thoughtful, kind, helpful,....... I recall that all this started over some guy selling helicopter parts to a government that the US were not talking to at the time. Maybe it was parts for something else, it was a long time ago. But if they think that keeping the price of reloading supplies higher in Canada is saving anyone, of course they are wrong. It seems to me that there are no reloading products that we cannot import, we just need the proper paperwork, so another level of paperwork has been created. These do end, but usually after a long time.

If you can afford to buy a 50 BMG and put optics on it you must also be willing to pay to play and feed it ammo. It is what it is.

1.75$ a piece for once fired from a dude on the EE isn't a bad deal in my opinion.

I'm not sure what you mean by it is what is. 50 bmg Brass in the us is 55-60 cents a piece. I'm willing to spend the bucks on the bmg but I want to fire it for as cheap as I can. The bullets on the othe hand, not really worth importing at least for the hornady bullets maybe the surplus will be cheaper though. Good enough for playing around in the bush.

It means that its like paying 340,000.00$ for a Ferrari that gets 3 MPG and then complaining about it. If you can afford to buy it, you need to be prepared to pay the price of running it no matter what the current market cost is.

How much 50 BMG ammo do you see in Canada? What's the cost involved in shipping 100, 50BMG brass versus 100 308win brass? What's the cost of shipping 100 750 grn 50BMG projectiles versus 100 168 grn 308 projectiles. You will soon find out why its so expensive in Canada once you try to bring your own in from the US and ship it.

In the United States we tell Polish jokes. (and they are mostly Catholic)

In Canada you tell Pakistani jokes. (and they are Muslims)

And in all honesty we just don't want to sell things that can be shot back at us or used to blow up aircraft and kill Americans.

You Canadians also tell a joke about "Why is the White House white" dating from 1812.

Don't feel bad, we can be slow learners, we just passed a new regulation stating returning servicemen with artificial limbs and orthopedic braces no longer have to take them off to get through airport security when coming home.

And if the Liberals are allowed to have their way here they will take away our right to keep and bear arms.

I won't say anything about your comment of selling thing to kill you. But Canadians at least in the west tell Newfie joke, and they are not Muslims, oh how is that White House thing doing you seem to have a great guy living in there now. Sarcasm off

Bah, leave poor bigedP51 alone, he is right if you try and look at it from where his boots are placed. We are all on the same page here, lets get along....lol

An add on the EE will probably get you several hits for 50 BMG brass, give it a shot!

They aren't cheaper on some bullets. I just priced a 500 box of 69gr matchkings, and they were $7 cheaper than one of my Canadian suppliers, before paying the license fee of $12. When you add in the difference in shipping, I would be paying significantly more having them brought in from the USA.

You are right, but I used them for bullets that were pretty much impossible to get in Canada at the time, sometimes you have to pay to play.

Thank you, my real name is Ed Horton and one part of the Horton clan stayed loyal to the King and moved to Canada and away from the American rebels.
(good riddance, the Canadian part of the clan were the cattle thieves and horse rustlers) :nest:

My biggest fear now is my cousin Tim Horton has been moving south and is flanking Washington. I fear that he will move east now and burn Washington "again". :bangHead:

Below, Tim Horton's supply depots and troop locations................

But you Canadians just remember this, it only took Mel Gibson 1 hour and 47 minutes to beat General Cornwallis. :stirthepot2:

Well of course it only took Mel Gibson less than 2 hours to beat old Cornwallis - because Mel Gibson is Australian, mate. Now if it had been left to Americans without help from the commonwealth it probably would have taken years. Wait a minute....
LOL

The difference with the Ferrari is that no matter how much you drive it you will never surpass the price of the car in gas.

In shooting you will easily surpass the price of the firearm in ammunition before you even wear out the barrel.
