Has anyone "Pimped" a Yugo SKS?

This thread went south for the OP :D but I have to agree, just leave her be. She ###y enough, she doesn't need any cosmetic "improvements"(i use this term very lightly) ;)

Unless the alterations are permanent, and then the value nosedives.

If a Mirror Kommando wants to play Barbie in the privacy of the basement suite in his mother's home, its his business. Let's just hope he doesn't need to share.

Yeah I've seen such a beast in the EE, where it was painted green/brown camo and the grenade launcher removed with mojo sights intstalled. The seller wanted like $500 and all he got was few pages of angry CGNers blasting him for his blasphemy. If anyone is considering to pimp one out, please do so..we like to sort out our local bubbas.

Used to happen all the time when Marstar had them in stock. First thing to go was the launcher. Just like is happening now with the Russians & Chinese. All that money to shoot worse & look like ass.

I've seen three guys throw kits on their's then try and turn around and sell them for 900 (on buysell) i always message them asking if they are on glue. Just because u put something on a gun doesnt make it worth more or make it cooler, I mean if the OP wants to do it feel free its his gun, but taking a classic and putting something new on it just doesn't work for me

Make me sad to see peoples "bubba" their guns, ofc its their so they can make whatever mod to it, but bubbaing a yugo sks or even a beautiful unissued or excellent (refurb or not) russian hurt me..... particulary if the gun are altered forever:( For me, refinishing a stock its ok(i speak for a refurb or well used rifle) as long the rest of the gun stay in military configuration. But cutting bayonet lug or something like that is blasphemy.....

Seem to see this alot on the American SKS forums. I guess they are not the sought after guns they are up here.

Meh, I don't lose much sleep over people modifying their sks. You're not exactly starting out with a Rolls Royce (even if it is a yugo).
Don't get me wrong, I enjoy my sks's and I believe everybody should own one. But there isn't exactly a shortage of them right now.
