The last one I bought was June 2; bought it at 10:00AM, the gun shop called in the transfer then, I called in 20 minutes later. Transfer was approved and the ATT emailed to me at 1:45PM that day.

I bought another one this afternoon. When I called the CFO to complete my side of the transfer, I heard something I haven’t heard in a long time; “ the transfer will be approved within 5 to 10 working days....”

I asked her if that was for real; I haven’t had a transfer take more than 48 hours in a LOONG while. Her reply made me a bit nervous....”things change”.

Has anyone bought any restricted weapons the last couple of weeks here? Any rumblings overheard by anyone? It’s certainly not because I’m an “infrequent flyer”....this is the fifth transfer since February for me. I’m hoping what she said is inaccurate; I haven’t heard of anything changing, any problems, etc. Just very curious if anyone else has. There isn’t any reason I can think of for a surge in new purchases, no one’s had a barn burner sale or anything that would account for a delay like that; they’ve been surprisingly quick this year...so far.

I bought a handgun on June 27 , from the east coast , the shop called in on June 27 , i called to confirm June 28 th in the morning , was approved already, i'm in Manitoba, Winnipeg.

Don’t make me try.

Edit - the last couple I bought I made sure I was a safe distance from home so I could ask them to expedite the transfer to avoid having to make a long trip back to pick up the firearms. On both occasions I was out of the store within a half hour, merchandise in hand.

I usually hear them say the 5-10 days thing but the transfer has always happened for me within two days or less.

well, that was a tempest in a teapot. my phone woke me up at 6:10 this morning; and email alert. the CFO, approving the transfer! I had the new gun in my hands in less than 18 hours. I called the CFO this morning to ask if there was some reason I’d been given the 5-q0 business days speech again, after not hearing it in at least a couple of years. Best guess they could come up with was they have several new employees and it might have been one of them.
in any event, I’m happy. I have the pistol, I even put a hundred rounds through it before leaving the gun shop. I bought a new Ruger Mark IV tactical; man, Ruger does such a nice job on these guns! fit & finish are perfect, it’s got great trigger & flawless function. I got the steel frame version for the added weight, sights were dead on out of the box, and the gun is VERY accurate

Nice. I'm in Ontario and 2 months ago a restricted from dealer took about 10 days including delivery. Another one that was purchased two weeks ago from local dealer is still awaiting transfer. I was given the 7-10 day reply when I called to inquire.....that was at around the 12 day point I think.

You can thank the AR ban scare for that.
