Has Anyone Put a Charger Barrel on A Takedown 10/22?

Wow, all that knowledge..... to bad its incorrect knowledge

just heading out for supper but im pretty sure he is right on this one.
i had 10/22 barrel that had a dent in the one end and i sent it to the gunsmith to have a 1/4" shaved off it and he would not do it, said it was illegal to cut.

i find it hard to imagine a gunsmith who has been working in Canada his entire life would be wrong about something like that.

In your case it is illegal. The other case is about cutting a 10/22 rifle barrel into a shorter 10/22 pistol barrel (charger is restricted).

oh ya, K that makes more sense.
i was sitting here looking at the CC of Canada and its very clear about cutting rifle barrels.
i too totally missed the "cutting a 10/22 barrel down for a charger"
i thought we were just cutting barrels down short.

i always found it funny that you cant cut your 10/22 barrel down but you can buy the same length of barrel you want new and its fine.
so you cant cat cut your barrel down to 8.5" but you can buy one a 8.5" Dlask.
something in cutting a barrel at home that someone who was making the law didnt like i guess.

BUT if your cutting it down to fit onto a pistol then hey thats cool.
common sense laws would be nice.

Anyone have a line on a 0.920 thread protector that fits the Tac Hammer barrel? I want to ditch the factory comp. I have a Dlask thread protector but it's about half an inch longer than it needs to be and part of me wants this to be as close to 660mm just 'cuz.

Curious... when the rifle is in the ‘taken down’ format, is it considered sufficiently rendered inoperable, ie) no trigger lock needed for transport?
