Has anyone put a Norinco 1911 .45 upper on a GSG 1911 .22 lower?

I read on a few web pages that GSG says you can put a 1911 .45 upper on there 1911 lower. I have read on a few other websites that they just wont fit. So has anyone done this? If so with what 1911 upper?

Not a good idea....the cast zamak frame would destroy itself if you could ever get it to work.
Just buy a Nork if you want a cheap .45.

I suspect that what you read was about fitting a GSG slide onto a centerfire 1911 frame and not the way around that you posted.

I've read a few stories about using the GSG parts to produce a .22 conversion so the shooter can practice with the same trigger as they use for the .45 ammo. But they all needed some fitting to work.

I didn’t necessarily want to do it I just wondered if it was possible after reading online.

I was reading on a US forum and a couple guys said they put there .45 uppers on GSG lowers. One guy even insisted GSG says it was safe to do so on there website. I couldn’t find it on the GSG website and it didn’t seem right so I thought I would ask.

Thanks for the input guys
