I am looking for some 22 inserts for my 12 gauge, has anyone tired them? What brand is the best and where can you order them? Thanks, guys.

I have tried the ones from Dina Arms.

I had one in 9mm that I ended up selling before I ever used.

I kept the .22 one though. It is not accurate enough to hit a gopher without any sights on your shotgun. With sights, its better. But it leaves a lot to be desired.

The adapter is the barrel. All of 2 3/4 inches of it. Considering that the adapter itself does not require a hammer and a punch to knock it out of your shotguns chamber means that there is room for movement of the adapter inside your barrel.

Also, you need a cleaning rod or similar object handy to pop the empty case from the adapter so that is a bit of a pain.

Honestly, I just put a set of sights on my shotgun and havent tried the adapter since. But I dont have high hopes.

The only really cool things about it are how quiet it is and how there is ZERO recoil.

A sub guage adapter would probably be a better way to go. you could fire a .410 accurately from a 12 ga. Your pattern will be roughly the same size. It will just have less fill as I understand it.

I would avoid the all aluminum rimfire "Dina" adapter. Accuracy even @15 yards is poor. I could not even hit a popcan at this distance. I was using an iron sighted slug gun.
I have no experience with the Walther variants, but I suspect they are a bit better than the one Dina I used. I once had a long all steel sub-calibre adapter for 38/357 for a hinge action 20 gauge & it was okay at 35 yards or so accuracy wise. It was head & shoulders better than the short rimfire adapter for sure.
There used to be a California based company that made a 38 Special adapter ("Cherry adapter") for 12 gauge, specifically aimed at LEO training. I have no idea if this outfit is still around.
I think myself, with any adapter made short enough to feed & eject from a repeating shotgun, I think hunting accuracy will almost always be hard to attain.

I have used the Krieghoff adapters that are made for German drillings. They are high quality, accurate, and expensive. If you want one, I have one for sale since I use 16 ga. drillings and combination guns and so my 12 ga adapter is surplus.
