Has anyone's first time transfer gone through?

From reading a few posts there seems to be a recurring theme where most people who made their first restricted purchase are still waiting for their transfer.

I'm wondering if anyone on here has had any luck so far?

I got a response last week from the Quebec CFO telling me they were in the process of contacting my references (The ones I submitted 10 years ago when I applied for my PAL). I dug a little further and found out who my references were and both of them had outdated contact info...

This seems like a pretty major oversight and I can't imagine how many delays this is going to cause.

QC here, 1st restricted, bought from Ontario dealer Aug 13, no news yet. Just did my loi 9 course last night… only found out about this hoop on Saturday when I went to join a club.

How did you find out who your references were?

I bought my first on the 9th of June from a store in Ont (I live in QC). Still no news. Also I made a thread in the French section. If any other Qc guy gets a 1st transfer plz post there.

Lol wut? If you have a valid PAL (Let alone one that you've renewed twice), and your range membership info is on file (If your province requires it), and you have the proper transport conditions attached to your RPAL, why the hell would they be contacting your references?? That's super odd.

Did you just recently apply to upgrade your PAL to restricted, or have you had R for those 10 years?

Ontario. June 1 purchase. 14 weeks to approval. Crickets for the later purchases so far. Get back to me at xmas. Hoping to have some interesting ornaments for the tree this year.

Cause Quebec cfo is…. “special” I’ve had my RPAL for 15+ yrs, no clue who the references were.
Plus we have Loi 9 which I only found out about when I tried to join a club the week I bought my 1st restricted… another course, online prep, in person theory and practical exam, 100$… ain’t life grand?

I just sold my pistols a little while ago. I'm still waiting to hear back from them and the government to say I can send them out. So many people have been buying and selling pistols though, so I'm sure they just can't effectively handle the number the need to do in a timely manner.
