Has choke ever been discussed on this forum? LOL :-)

There's no mercy given in turkey shoots!!!!!

:)
That's fer sure! :) I've run a IM .025" Comp-N-Choke on my Rem 870 with good results over the yrs.
Clay busting fer me at least, be very dependent on factors like state of mind & comfort level at the events along with avoiding any beverages
containing caffeine. Being consistent with the choice of clothing for events helps as well for proper gun mounting and movement.

Going to throw this out there on chokes happened yesterday in a hurry new gun went out to the 16 yd line shot a round (25) wow chipping and knocking pieces off no real solid hits ,broke 19. Walked back to my vehicle shaking my head ,my shooting partner pointed and said probably would have done better with a CHOKE in your gun. Had shot the whole round with a straight cylinder. To be fair most of my guns have flush chokes except this one and the barrel does not fit in the case with the extended choke on. Well Al Ljutic said choke is really overrated I guess I'm inclined to agree. No issue with the threads bit of plastic on them from the wads but a very sheepish shooter here.:)

Good story!! No choke in the gun happens more often than people care to admit.
And I have witnessed sporting clay shooters in major events intentionally removing their chokes on stages where the targets are ‘in your face’ close !! These are highly competitive master class-shooters that break 95/100’s and every last target broken counts big time!!
A fast bouncing clay rabbit target at 10 yards and out come the chokes and now they are shooting ‘threads’ !!
I can’t wrap my head around that (shooting threads), it’s sacrilegious in my books. And I’d never buy a used $10,000 gun from any of those guys. lol

We have had people come out for skeet and do that. Meanwhile, if it rains, and I take my duck gun for skeet, I just leave the LM choke in it, because I can't be bothered to change chokes. For sporting clays, I typically leave a pair of Muller U1 chokes in both barrels all year.
