Has my Life Come to This? Two Rifles??

You might as well sell the .243 dies; the .223/.270 combination makes the .243 redundant unless you want a loaner. I'd be inclined to add a .375 to balance things out, but otherwise you're in better shape than many. Quality always trumps quantity.

Boomer has it right. I would sooner have a few really good rifles/scopes in the locker instead of a dozen or so that are of inferior quality.

It's not the quantity Archie,it's the quality. Those two look just fine to me.That's not to say that I subscribe to your reasoning.I prefer to have a safe FULL of quality rifles!:D Cheers, Mur

I am in the process of selling off a number of the items in the safe to get down to just a few quality guns. By the time it's done I'm only plan on having a 223, 6mm Rem (because I already have it, original rem 700. Too cool to get rid of), 270 (or 7mm-08) and 300 WM. I have no need for guns that I don't shoot.

My two go-to rifles are the .260 & .338wm. No need for anything else, although I did pick up a .308HB for paper/gong punching...

Wouldnt bother me at all to leave it at that...all Sako's of course...:D

I've been hearing that from you for the last 15 years. :D

Stay tuned. That gorgeous Husqvarna you lusted after is gone, and you are going to be seeing a lot more on the EE in the days ahead. Hint: 358 Win, 7mm & 300 Win Mags, 243 will be just a few.

The goal: a 223 Ackley, a 270 or 7X57, a 30-30 and 303 Br, and a couple of 9.3X62s.

Marg can keep the rest. ;)

Boomer you're right, but the 243 build is just a fun build I wanna do on the cheap. No rush to put it together. Also right about quality over quantity. While Kimbers are far from custom guns they offer everything I want out of a rifle, right from the get-go.

I'd love to have more than two rifles, but at first year apprentice rates its hard to scope them with good glass, build up a good supply of reloading components, and live a normal life in the middle of it :D .

Trust me I have a Talkeetna .375 H&H, or a .338 WM Montana on my brain now :D

My two go-to rifles are the .260 & .338wm.no wait a .300 WSM, no wait a .308, no ok a 30-06, nope one last switch, a 7mm,schit back to a .338 again

Fixed it for ya :p

Sakos...pffffft

All kidding aside: why does the webbed one have such a long shank? I've had early and late models and all had shanks more like the bottom. Nice M1 on the 6x42 BTW.

All kidding aside, you make me want to puke and cut my eyes out.

84M's and 8400 non-magnums have a full shank as well as 84L's. 8400 WSM's have a stubby shank.

Yup... one gun...

Yah, I hear a lot of guys are downsizing their collections now that the registry is gone. :p

You know I was anticipating a huge spike in guns for sale when it was canned...but I havent seen it yet :(

I can get down to three, two is tough.

What's that POS scope on the bottom rifle? ;)

Some jackass from BC pretty much sold it to me brand new, and went to the trouble of having the 150$ dial installed, then sold it to me at a loss....what a nut job :D
