I have two Ruger .44 Carbines, one is the earlier model, and one the later with button for releasing cartridges from the mag tube. Both are set up with Aimpoint Micro Red Dot's using the rear scope mount location and have quick release mounts. I zero them about 2" high at 100m with 240gr Hornady XTP's running about 1750fps and drop is just over 2" at 150m.

They are very handy with the aimpoint Micro's!

Love to see some pictures of this setup.

A very decent 44 Carbine was listed elsewhere last week for $900. I would have grabbed it as a parts donor / back-up for the one I have but I was too late to the party. Not the fist decent deal I've missed.

I think there was a mag article published claiming the 44 is a best pig hunting set-up, so the flavour du jour in the US likes them , so trickle down to Cdn follows of course

I like mine for banging steel but that started first with a S&W 29 , so carry-over seemed natural
Just load up 500 and take the two out for a day of fun

Those unicorns are rare .. probably never see one

Years ago I bought a matching serial number 96 44 and 99 44. Both serial #48 nib and imported them from the US. I ended up sick and in hospital for a few weeks so something had to go and it was these 2. I kicked myself but knew it had to happen. I swore I would buy again and I did. I have one of each again. The 99 44 I imported and the 96 44 I bought last fall off a another site. These 2 will never be sold. I use the 99 44 deer hunting every year and the 96 44 will just stay in its original box and that's fine with me !

I had a 44 for a little while. They are pretty nice, unique, and interesting, and work very well. I let it go because the stock did not fit me well.
