Has TSX vs GMX been done yet ?

I have used TSX s in every wieght there is in 270 , a while back i picked up a box of 130 grn GMX s . I had never tried them until now because i read on the interweb that Guilding metal is harder than copper, leading me to belive that these bullets wont expand as well as a TSX .

Any whoo I finally tried the old shooting the box full o paper trick with very interesting results . The Barnes preformed typicaly four perfect petals as usual , but i was most impressed with the GMX . They expanded more like a bonded core bullet . The second one I fierd hit an existing chanel in the paper so it looked more like the TSX but it expanded more .

I took one poor picture and my camera died so I will try to get em up tomorrow .

I have had bad luck with the GMX bullets in .308 150g. I followed the load data from hornady and they don't seem to chamber in my tika t3. I can't close the bolt on my rifle, I have checked the reccomended COAL at least 3 times and they are bang on, the bullets however measured 309-310, I have contacted Hornady and apparently they are working on sending me out some new bullets but I think I may just get rid of them I am not too enthusiastic about loading up another 50 rounds that don't chamber.

yes but the results i posted are bias the tsx i fierd was not shot into the same media .
I fierd another into the same media and it preformed like the least expanded gmx . I will try to shoot all of them into newspaper asap .
 
So i got load up some more this after noon , all loaded with 54 grns IMR 4350 probably 2950 ish fps . two into dry paper on the left two into wet paper on the right . Not really any difference in preformance to bicker about . I didnt measure penetration , i would say aroud 12-13 inches in the wet paper

That Hornady COL is nothing but a suggested starting point. Take a empty piece of brass and keep seating the bullet deeper until your bolt will close. That's your starting point for COL. Read up on some land finding techniques.
