Has your "taste" in shotguns changed over the years?

First shotgun was a Rem 1100 and I sorely regret selling it... Upgraded to a Browning Citori, lost interest in that and got a Rem 870 supermag (complete P.O.S!!) and now thoroughly enjoy my reliable Mossy 535 pump.
Should never have sold the 1100, I took more game with that than any other shotgun...

I've always preferred doubles of one sort or another. I went to a semi for goose hunting rather than buy a double with choke tubes (blasphemy) or shoot expensive steel-alternatives. Given all the givens I'd still rather use a SxS for exerything. If only they weren't so expensive and if only Bismuth was the price of lead.

I,ve allways had a 870 marine mag has this one for allmost 15yrs now.
ive got 3 others 870,s they have to be the best pump shotgun evermade.
That and the mossy 590
i think a 870 with a single point sling and good iron sites have to be one of the best guns a man can own, you can do just about anything with it.
if i could only own 1 gun it would be my 870.

Yep; I have to agree with spi, I've had them all, but I am getting older now and the sxs with an english stock is a classic, now I have 4 of them and just picked up a 20 gage belguim, however I still have the 870,1100,select,citori,o/u 20gage, sxs 12 muzzleloader, and some others,I know, I have a expensive hobby, but I love the look of the classic shotgun. Honey, how much do we have in the savings account??

Started with a single, inherited a pump, bought an auto, a SXS, and an O/U. Then a couple more pumps and, recently, four more SXS's. I like all types, but the pumps and SXS's are my favorites. I like having a variety of barrel lengths and gauges in the mix.

I prefer doubles for most things, the only preference that has changed for me is the number of triggers. I prefer 2, properly turned.
I have flirted with hammer guns, but have yet to find one that really fits me.
I have other type of shotguns for various purposes but none of them are as much fun as a SxS.
