Anyone heard about Hasan brand shotguns?
Reported to be quite good at a reasonable price for the semi-auto model.
I can find them on the net.

Turkish Shutgon I do not know about that? I do not think they are tested for our harsh environment. Try the Russian. They are even more affordable since they are made for our harsh environment beside Armrus.com is selleing Semi's 12g for $ 300 Canadian and O/U for $ 250
BaikalCanada is selling the MP153 aanother semi 12 g for $575 Canadian

Is HAtsan even represented in Canada? Good Luck making up your mind.

Call Bell Distributors at 1-800-235-5347 and request a retail catalogue. They have Hatsan, Norinco and Boito. I don't know if they will retail a gun but any retailer with an account can get one for you. They are located in Mississauga, Ontario.

Save yourself some trouble and spend a few more bucks on a brand name gun!! Who is going to back this thing up with parts AND SERVICE! How long will you wait for service if this thing goes down on you???? Food for thought!!!!!!!!!!!!! Save up your money and get a name brand gun!!!!!!!!

I disagree. I've owned a Hatsan Escort pump for almost a year now. Its been one of the most reliable shotties i've owned. Just because they dont say "mossberg" on the side doesnt mean they cant hold their own

I have one. So far, I am extremely happy with this shot gun. In my opinion;
- points quickly and well
- very lightweight
- excellent hardwoods camo finish
- cycles flawlessly with any ammo from cheap target loads to hevi-shot turkey loads.
- I had to wait a few weeks to get a more open choke tube (I like improved cylinder)
- Price was very good.
- Chrome lined barrels clean really easily

I'm really not a huge proponent of name brand guns. In my experience if they fail it's just as much of a hassle to get them fixed as anything else. I go for function and value.

That makes a lot of sense, you are going for function and value and not buying name brand guns, how has your vast experience been in the shot gun world with buying off brand shotguns as far as function ( more than 250 rnds. per year) and value ( read resale) been for you ???????

Nothing wrong with being opinionated. I fire more than 250 rounds per month. I don't sell many shot guns. Those I have sold sold quickly for pretty much what I paid for them.

Has your vast experience been different?

DAVIDF- Looks to me like ALBERTA TACTICAL RIFLE concurs with " my vast experience", keep us posted on how you make out!!

My experience tells me, better wait and save more than buy cheap. I'm way too poor to buy cheap. And then i'm not happy, i sell the tham thing, loose money, try to find, again, something considered as a bargain...and it goes on and on.... No, put money aside and but a gun that has proven itself.

Just my opinion:)

Ihad a look at a Stoger 2000 on the weekend.
Made in Turkey.

That is because they are exactly the same gun, only brought in by different importers.:) This is also the case with Stoeger side by sides and over/unders - the same guns imported by Bell Distributors in Mississauga are called "Boito."

Hatsan is a manufacturer located in Turkey; they also manufacture a line of airguns that are imported (also by Bell Distributors.) The Winchester airguns are, unbeknowst to most, manufactured for Winchester by Hatsan too.
