I'm happy with the Hastings Paradox tube I got for me 870 from Tradeex a couple years back. Superb quality barrels, but the standard ones aren't thick along the walls and Verney Carron tells folks to NOT use Remington high velocity sabot ammo in them. Hastings offered heavy barrels for 870's & others as well. Would've grabbed one but Traddex was outta stock at the time.

I know a few guys with 26" heavy rifled Hastings barrel on their 870s and they shoot great. I know the one guy has taken many deer over a 100 yards shooting Winchester partition gold 2 3/4"
I remember Epps had a huge order coming from Verney Carron but when they arrived they had bluing/rust issues I think and were sent back. Our deer group were waiting for them but when it didnt happen we all bought remington rifled barrels and now have moved on to Savage 220s.

That was/is the wadlock barrel... with no spin when the wad leaves the barrel it is supposed to give a better pattern. I had one on an Ithaca 37.
Hastings make the nicest shotgun barrels I have seen. Beautiful rib installation and straight.
